Loved up with Carta Bella's Devoted collection

It's the season of love at Pages 2 Scrap, and look at this gorgeous collection from Carta Bella that I got to play with this month. It's called Devoted and it's so soft and pretty, I love the pops of baby blue mixed with the pink and red. And Carta Bella papers are such great quality; the texture is really nice to work with.

Here's what I've created this month; why not pop in to the store to check out the inspiration wall up close, and stock up on Valentines Day supplies while you're there!

The little ribbon flowers were cut from some lovely organza rose ribbon available from Pages to Scrap.

Next up  :)  Like our hairy moustaches? I was looking for lovey-dovey pics from way back when Richard and I met, and came across this little gem - I had to scrap it!

This collection is so versatile; great for funky modern style layouts but refined enough for traditional or more classic layouts too. There's a lot of dimension in this one...

...some little flags cut from scraps, and pretty Prima Say It With Pearls to add a bit of sparkle. And lots of foam tape :)

This one is a bit more funky-style! A bit of texture paste and a Crafters Workshop template was used to make those little clouds there, and some doodling because I can't help myself :)

I've swiped a bit of bright blue paint as a base and used some white Mister Huey's to tone it down a little, then stitched the fussy cut tickets into little banners.

Aw, how cute are Holly and Nyx!  :)

Last up, I thought a little jar would be a nice Valentines project... I've made a similar jar once before for Richie, it contained a little rolled-up poem that I wrote for him (I fancy myself a bit of a poet sometimes LOL). The wee felt flower is from Basic Grey and I've used some bright yellow scraps along with the reds and greys of the Devoted collection to give it a contemporary feel.

Well, as you can see there's plenty of ways to work this lovely Valentines collection... if you're in the area, head on over to Pages to Scrap and check out all the new stuff in store!

Kaisercraft Secret Admirer - Pages 2 Scrap DT reveal

In January I had the pleasure of playing with Kaisercraft's Secret Admirer collection for Pages 2 Scrap, and what a beautiful collection it is! Full of feminine pink and peach colours mixed with turquoise and a bit of black and white. I've got 5 layouts and a mini album to share with you this month, starting with this one of my grubby daughter.  :)

I've used some dark navy cardstock to contrast with all those lovely bright pinks. How sweet are those birdcages? A few of the small doily shapes were die cuts and others I fussy-cut from the 6x6 paper pad.

Next is a layout using all the non-pink parts of this collection; the owl and lace die-cuts are so sweet, and I have added a few Kaiser flowers to this one to give it some extra texture.

As you can see this layout is really three dimensional; I've used 1/2inch thick stacks of foam tape to raise up the photo. Planning on giving this one to my mum when it's not needed in the store anymore.  :)

This layout is another feminine one using quite a few of the die-cuts and some Kaiser flowers which I've misted yellow with Chalkboard mist. The big teal coloured bloom is from Prima. I've added a little washi tape and white paint to add some layers and used the Secret Admirer stamps from my kit to give some depth to the background.

I've also torn and rolled some edges to show the pretty pinstripe back of the paper, and used pink twine to thread it together.

This one is a more modern take on this collection using white cardstock - I've used one of the Secret Admirer papers down the centre with some stitching to finish it off.

There's plenty of die cuts and stickers from the collection on this page along with the stamps from my kit and some blue Dylusions ink and turquoise paint to mess it up a little.

For my final project I wanted to share this little mini book I've made to journal about the changes to our garden since we moved into our new house over a year ago.

I've used a Basic Grey mini album and lot of sheets from the Secret Admirer 6x6 pad to cover each page. The front cover features a WoW flourish covered in copper embossing powder and ink, along with a few die-cuts from my kit.

I've left most of the inner pages pretty simple to showcase those lovely papers!

A couple of die-cuts and a photo on each page was really all that was needed.

I really need to push myself to journal sometimes so I made an effort with this one to write something substantial about each photo!

Hope you enjoyed looking at these projects as much as I enjoyed creating them! Also you might like to check out some of the AWESOME classes and workshops coming up at Pages 2 Scrap... check out the website here.

Challenge me Happy: song challenge

Oops, I seem to have missed the deadline for this challenge at Challenge Me Happy... the prompt was to use Gotye's song Somebody that I used to Know as inspiration for your layout - I didn't get it finished in time to submit, but I thought I'd share it here anyway. :)

I couldn't think of 'anybody that I used to know' that I'd actually want to scrap about(!), so instead I took inspiration from the film clip which features a lot of muted colours and geometric shapes.

I just doodled a heap of triangles in pencil and coloured them with my Tria markers which are basically fancy textas. Then I misted a bit over the top with this great big offcut plywood piece that I have that has triangles and circles cut out of it.

Hopefully I'll get a chance to participate in the February challenege...  this month it's 'white space'... right up my alley!

Materials used: grey Bazzill, TA Chalkboard mists, Tria markers, Heidi Swapp buzzwords title, Crate and Glitz pp, Tim Holtz filmstrip, thread.

White With 1 February Challenge!

The February challenge is up on the White With 1 blog... this month's challenge is

white +  pink  + hearts

Of course... it's Valentines day very soon and I could have scrapped a lovey dovey photo of Richard and I... but I thought I'd choose a pic of Holly for my DT layout instead.

Look at that cheesy little face  :)

So, we'd love you to join in the fun this month - head on over to WW1 for more wonderful DT inspiration!

Materials used: pink Dylusions, Greatest View badge, 2 Crafty and Kaisercraft chipboard, Kaisercraft polaroid frame, Amy Tangerine stickers, TCW cloud template, washi tape.

I heart trees

So I have been scrapping  a whole lot lately, but mostly DT stuff that I can't share just yet :)

So I thought I'd post about something a little different... can I just say... how awesome are trees? Seriously. Look at some of these delicious textures.

I couldn't help but take a heap of close ups of the gorgeous array of trees in the Blue Mountains national park; we went up to Scenic World a couple of weeks ago and hit the walking trails. It was so wonderful to get some 'tree time'.   :)

Hope you like these pics... I think they look a bit like paint effects - and crackled pottery - and crimped hair!
